Fortnite Crew Changes December

Fortnite Crew is losing its monthly skins, as Epic Games has confirmed that Crew Pack outfits end with December's pack, with subscribers getting more V-Bucks every month from December 5 instead.

Epic announced the shake-up in a Fortnite news post on November 4, and as well as ending the Crew Packs it's also wrapping up the OG Pass on the same day, while the price of Crew stays exactly where it is at $11.99 a month (£9.99 here in the UK).

How many V-Bucks you'll get from December 5

Subscribers currently get 800 V-Bucks a month, and from December 5 that goes up to at least 1,000, with the amount climbing the longer you stay subscribed until you top out at 1,600 after a year.

Tier Months subscribed V-Bucks per month

Core

1 to 2

1,000

Bronze

3 to 5

1,200

Silver

6 to 11

1,400

Gold

12+

1,600

If you're already subscribed, your starting tier is based on how many months in a row you've been subscribed over the past 12 months, so anyone who's kept it running for a year goes straight in at Gold. Lapsed members who resubscribe between December 6 and 11:59pm ET on December 31 (that's 4:59am UK time on New Year's Day) will have their most recent continuous stretch counted, but come back after that and you'll start from scratch at Core, and Epic says the new Crew tab in-game will show where you've landed from December 5.

What else is changing, and what isn't

The OG Pass ends on December 5 with what Epic calls a dramatic conclusion to Chapter 1: OG Season X, and the next era of Fortnite OG isn't due until late 2027. Crew members are also getting a 20% XP boost, and squadmates without Crew get 10% extra while they're playing with you, although Epic says those boosts don't stack if half your party is subscribed.

The Battle Pass, Music Pass, LEGO Pass and Rocket Pass Premium are all still included, with a Music Mini-Pass arriving on November 12 and a LEGO Mini-Pass and the next Battle Pass both landing on December 5. If you own Crew Pack outfits but haven't unlocked all their Legacy Styles yet, Epic says every one of them will be granted to you in December, whether you're still subscribed or not.

So is Fortnite Crew still worth it?

That really depends on why you signed up in the first place, because if the exclusive monthly skin was the draw, December's pack is your last one, but if you mostly spend your V-Bucks in the Item Shop, a year-long subscriber is about to get double what they get now, which isn't a bad pay rise for doing absolutely nothing. Our guide to whether the Fortnite Crew subscription is worth it runs through the maths, and if you've decided you're done, here's how to cancel your Fortnite Crew subscription on every platform.

Well, it's the end of an era for the skin collectors, but at least the V-Bucks are heading in the right direction.
