Fortnite’s crossovers have always been a core part of the game’s raucous success, moving from broad cultural icons like Marvel and DC into more obscure characters, drawing from anime big-hitters like Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia.

The game has been giving players practically everything they want, to such a degree that we’re running out of things to look forward to, or even to expect. But now it looks like the crossovers we thought would never come could actually be on the way - even if it’s hard to understand how it would work logistically.

Fortnite could be crossing over with The Binding of Isaac

Classic indie roguelike The Binding of Isaac could be in for a brand new adventure, as new reports have claimed that it could be making its way to Fortnite.

Epic Games leaker Shiina has revealed on Twitter that the company reached out to Edward McMillen, the creator of The Binding of Isaac, after he expressed his interest in bringing his most popular title to the game. He has reportedly been in a meeting with Epic Games, and they are supposedly working on bringing the game to Fortnite.

This is great news for fans of the indie icon, but among superfans of the game, there’s one question to be asked - how on earth is this going to work?

What would a Fortnite x The Binding of Isaac crossover look like?

Fans have been taking to the internet to express the same concern - how exactly can we bring The Binding of Isaac when its main character, a pixel-crushed, chibi-adjacent naked baby, pretty visibly refutes the typical skin structure in Fortnite?

Some have theorised that we’ll just get a few items that make reference to the items of the game, which will satiate fans of course, but it won’t be exactly what we want, because to imagine what it is that we actually want ends in an incredibly bizarre vision of a stretched-out naked man. Something tells us that won’t clear Fortnite’s content checks. Whatever gets us out of the basement.
