FC Barcelona Part Ways With Roster

FC Barcelona has announced the departure of their full Rocket League roster via their official Twitter account.

Players David "Deevo" Morrow, Aldin "Ronaky" Hodzic, Amine "itachi" Benayachi, Sebastian "Seeb" Ferrada Falch, and coach German "El General" Micciullo have parted with the roster, who have ended their 18-month consecutive stint within the esport.

Parting with good grace, the giant organisation stated "Our Rocket League team is taking its own road and no longer will be part of our club.

"The good memories shared together will remain, and we can only wish them a career full of success".

FC Barcelona has endured a rollercoaster tenure within Rocket League after joining in April 2019. Starting with Deevo alongside Yanis "Alpha54" Champenois and Dan "Bluey" Bluett, the side was able to shoot through the European standings and make the RLCS Season 7 European Grand Final before falling to Renault Vitality. With bluey as MVP, his decision to leave the organisation was an eyebrow-raiser, and this was often a pattern for the side. His successor, Ronaky, ascended to become the captain, whilst Alpha54 was then snatched up by Vitality, and his successor, Hrant "Flakes" Yakoub left with the conclusion of Season 9.

Now, after an unfortunate quarterfinal fixture in the European Major versus a rampant Team BDS, the side failed to make the same impact as they previously had. However, they was able to regain automatic qualification for The Grid via a Tiebreaker with Endpoint CEX.

As for what is next for the organisation and players alike, is yet to be seen. FC Barcelona ended their tweet with "info coming soon", meaning more clarity will be available at a later date.
