Before we're all "It's light's out and away we go," the depth and statistical analysis behind Formula 1 is a thing of beauty, and now we're set to live every second of the life behind the engines as F1 Manager 23 has officially been announced, boasting more features than ever before.

F1 Manager has become a resounding success, building on top of the model seen in football games, allowing players to not only grip the wheel but also to understand the finer nuances of what truly makes a car tick.

Now, an official F1 Manager 23 announcement has aired, and it contains a wealth of new "highly requested" Career features and a brand-new Race Replay mode.

As the main port of call for any aspiring F1 Manager, Career has let players step into the shoes of Toto Wolff and other gargantuan bosses, where they will oversee a mass range of intricacies throughout the company.

But in F1 Manager 23, the second instalment of the series, the depth of your managerial skills will be pushed to the limit as a Sporting Director role will come into play. "Enabling deeper management of the pit crew and their training schedule," this mode will see you need to weigh up costly errors with break-neck pit stop times.

Of course, the vivid breakdown of your car is also getting layered, with considerations for fluctuating track grip levels and new weight considerations that will "require players to find a balance between car performance and reliability".

You will also have a much more hands-on approach with your drivers too, with a new Confidence System that determines "bold overtaking manoeuvres", and a deeper scouting network to finally offer pre-contracts to drivers and scout fully simulated F2 and F3 Championships. Players will also be able to bounce off their drivers too, responding to "verbal" feedback from their world-class racers.

Alongside these updates to Career, Frontier has also announced a Race Replay mode that will work in tandem with the 2023 FIA Formula One World Championship, allowing Team Principles to "rewrite key moments from throughout the 23-race season".

Just as to which moments you'll be able to revisit in F1 Manager 23, that is yet to be seen. Maybe it will come alongside each turn-by-turn twist in the real-life 2023 season, or maybe you could go back in time and advise Lewis Hamilton to change his tires before the yellow flag...
