Exodus aims to be much more than alright, alright, alright, as the extremely ambitious time dilation systems will make the upcoming RPG a title that is completely different for every user.
As you travel through the galaxies, your home planet ages much quicker than your body, making every exodus (mission) to a different planet both morally ambiguous and dutifully important to humanity's survival.
So, ahead of its release - date yet to be determined - Archetype Entertainment has now revealed a new story for Exodus, as Archimedes Engine: The Power To Save Worlds will see players continue to expand the human race's interstellar advancement as Earth perishes.
Exodus' new story revealed by devs
In a recent Q&A, the developers dove into the details about how the time dilation will work, explaining that the Travelers (main characters voiced by Matthew McConaughey), will go on various storylines as they leave loved ones at home to grow older and time moves on around them.
Now, Archetype Entertainment has revealed the Archimedes Engine: The Power To Save Worlds story, where players will have to salvage technology from different races and fight intergalactic enemies to harvest their planets.
This story will see players travel the universe in search for Archimedes Engines, which is a "highly advanced technology that stabilizes orbits, controls atmospheres, terraforms land and more to make planets habitable."
These universe nucleases will be pivotal to your existence and will require maintaining, leaving you to weigh up whether another exodus away from your home planet will be worth leaving habilitation behind again.
"A world supported by a failing Engine can spiral into an uninhabitable hellscape within a single generation. Entire civilizations - cities, towns, millions of lives - can be wiped out almost overnight," the developers said in a press release.
It won't just be morals that come into question though, as, of course, the planets will be littered with other races looking for control of the technology, which nobody even knows how to use. Yet.
This story will be one of a few that Travelers will have to juggle through time and space, as Exodus' ambitious concept will keep your head scratching in between combat.
