A retail listing spotted by a Reddit user suggests that Elden Ring’s first expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, could be coming in February 2024.

Since the expansion was announced in February of this year, very little has been shared about a release date.

The first Elden Ring expansion could be coming early next year

As spotted by Reddit user ChiefLeef22, a page for an Elden Ring X Thrustmaster collab, which is set to release in February, mentions that it is set to "sync with new Shadow of the Erdtree Expansion release”.

February also lines up with Elden Ring’s anniversary, which would mean it wouldn’t be completely unexpected for the DLC to release to mark the event.

Shadow of the Erdtree was announced in February this year, though no further details about what it would entail were given aside from some new artwork.

There is no guarantee that the expansion will release in February, and a recent interview given by Elden Ring producer Yasuhiro Kitao to the Japanese publication Game Watch suggests that there may still be a while to wait.

Speaking about the DLC, he said: “It’ll be a little while yet, but progress is going well. Like Bloodborne, it has new battles and new characters.”

More controllers may be coming for Elden Ring in the future

Another thing that came up as part of the accidental leak is that more controllers may be on the way in the future.

The website mentioned a second wave of controllers which will allegedly be released in 2025, to coincide with a “major keybeat or new game expansion”.

This is exciting as it not only means new hardware may be coming in the future, but also more in-game content.

Of course, being a leak, none of this information is confirmed and the webpage which initially shared the information has since been taken down.

At least we don’t have to wait too long to find out whether the DLC will be released in February or not.
