When Modern Warfare 2 was originally announced, fans implored that a range of features from the first title of its namesake were added to the game, but few expected that a third-person game mode was coming back.

Third-person modes in Call of Duty have since been scrapped, with Fortnite taking over that style of gameplay.

But, MW2 has taken inspiration from a variety of non-CoD titles to refine its rough edges, and a third-person game mode has returned. After installing quite an inspired energy into the game, one constant nag continued to surface.

Modern Warfare 2 Third-Person Mode Fixes Main Problem

Players who tried the third-person mode in the beta continuously found themselves aggrieved at the first-person shooting. Having flicked from third to first to fire your weapon and then back again to move, the cameras began to get quite sore on the eye.

Now though, Infinity Ward has tweaked this, and will instead only flick back to first-person if a player is using a 4x scope or higher.

Taking to Instagram, the Call of Duty devs explained that the third-person mode will now stay in the said camera until players zoom in with a sniper scope.

Fans Excited After MW2 Third-Person Mode Reworks

Following the changes, players and fans alike have been quick to praise the developers. "That's a relief. Cause I was thinking I don’t remember going first person in the MW2 version, and if I'm playing 3rd person I’d like to stay in that POV," one fan said on Reddit.

The post also hinted at a Rainbow-Six-esque shoulder swap feature, which will likely allow players to ADS from different angles. The third-person mode will be one of many that will be ready to play on October 27.
