It’s been a rough year for every team in Counter-Strike, having to play a high volume of games while being locked away in their homes playing online. Burnout has run rampant in the scene and so teams had to adapt, not least the best Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) team of all time, Astralis. Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz talked to us about his exhaustion levels, how they cope, their year in review, reintroducing gla1ve, getting back to their old level, and playing Na’Vi at the BLAST Fall 2020 Finals.

Our question about his own mental state was met with a knowing smile. "I'm very exhausted. I think everyone is around the scene," he said, though quickly reminding himself what he does it for. "It's the life we live in, it's the life we've chosen." stoically adding that he thinks the best way to cope is "to not complain but manage as well as possible."

For 2021, dev1ce shared that he doesn't think that they have the right solution to the issues they are facing just yet. "Hopefully, we'll play less. I think that's just in general something that would be good for the scene as a whole," he said, adding that getting together in a physical location with the team would help alleviate some of the issues they have had. He shared: "Working towards a solution where we can isolate ourselves maybe in Copenhagen for a period or something like that and be together at the office would be ideal in some sort of way."
