CouRage "I would absolutely consider getting back into hosting/casting"

Nowadays you might know Jack "CouRage" Dunlop as a witty, high-energy, and rather clued-up streamer, or one of the leading faces of 100 Thieves, often carrying the likes of Tim "TimTheTatman" Betar and Tyler "Ninja" Blevins to success on games like Fortnite, Rust, and Among Us.

But older fans of CouRage will remember his rise through the ranks of Call of Duty broadcasting, starting off as an intern at Major League Gaming before starting a casting career on the main stage in 2014 at MLG Columbus during the Advanced Warfare season. Since then, he continued through to 2018, rounding off his casting career in CoD with the CWL Pro League, before moving into content creation and stepping into Fortnite.

But having already expressed how much he enjoys UNO! Mobile Wildcard Series, CouRage hosted the 2023 Community Cup Finals, where he revealed to GGRecon that he misses getting behind the microphone and getting involved with esports commentating.

CouRage confesses he'd love to return to professional casting

CouRage dusted off the old mic alongside Katie Bedford, Garrett "GrandmasterGOJJ", and Lily "Lilypichu" Ki for the 2023 UNO! Mobile Community Cup Annual Finals, and it appears to have reignited a passion that he's left dormant for a number of years.

"I absolutely do miss casting," he told GGRecon.

"Some of the best moments in my career happened when I was commentating on millions of dollars events all across the world."

Life after casting has been much more fruitful for CouRage, having taken his profile into streaming, content, and business, but when the opportunity comes, he does get excited to "go back to my roots casting," such as he did for the UNO! Mobile Community Cup 2023 Annual Finals.

"The community is so enthusiastic and it's been a whole year of tournaments leading up to the final battle, so it’s exciting," he added, explaining why he chose UNO! Mobile is the opportunity to step back into the host's shoes.

CouRage reveals his greatest casting moments

Undoubtedly, the UNO! Mobile Community Cup 2023 Annual Finals must have been quite a wild ride, but CouRage also has a number of monumental moments under his belt whilst casting some of the biggest esports events in the world.

And if he had to choose which one was his favourite, he couldn't. Instead, CouRage has two casting highlights, and he can't choose between either of them.

"The two favourite casting memories I have were commentating Bugha winning the Fortnite World Cup and commentating OpTic Gaming’s Call of Duty Championship win."

Fans of CouRage will remember his iconic "the curse has been broken, the dynasty has been cemented," quip which has been rung around the Call of Duty community like the Cathedral bells.

But fewer of his community might have seen him action during Bugha's Fortnite World Cup win, which was extraordinary in its own right given a 16-year-old couped a massive $3,000,000 cheque in a matter of hours.

Moments like the Dynasty win and Bugha's millionaire rise don't come through that often, but when they do, CouRage could consider coming back out of casting retirement for them.

CouRage claims he would get back into casting for 'the right opportunity'

Now that he's had a taste of hosting again, CouRage could be tempted back into a full-time casting career again, combined with content, if only the right game came knocking.

"I would absolutely consider getting back into hosting/casting other titles if the right opportunity came up," CouRage said.

But it would take something special for CouRage to be tempted to leave his streaming set-up as frequently as a career in casting would beckon.

"I have an incredible community who watches all my streams and videos so it would have to be very lucrative to pull me away from doing that," he added.

Instead, he's encouraged others to take the path into broadcasting and production. "I absolutely would encourage others to follow their dreams. It is the best thing I’ve ever done," he rounded off with.

Having vocalised arguably the best line in Call of Duty history, there will be a large section of the community who would love to hear his voice overlay again (more than the cameo at the recent CDL Major in LA), but given their budget, it might take some time before we see anything that could tempt CouRage away - and even then you'd need to find space for TimThetatman hitching a ride.
