Jack "CouRage" Dunlop has come quite a way since his Call of Duty World League casting days. Nowadays, his fans will know him for being the Co-Owner of 100 Thieves and an impressive FPS variety streamer. But he rose to popularity through Call of Duty esports, and now he's back to fix it.

Long-time CouRage stans will remember his iconic commentary for the OpTic Dynasty's world championship win. "The curse has been lifted. The dynasty has been cemented. They are the greatest roster in Call of Duty history. OpTic Gaming are officially the Call of Duty World League Champions."

CouRage only went on to cast four more Call of Duty events after this though, and soon stepped away from the league to pursue full-time content creation - a decision which has reaped its rewards. However, after making a momentary return in the 2022 World Championships Grand Final, his attention has returned to the CDL, and he's offering a lot of advice on how to fix their long-lasting issues.

CouRage Offers Help To The CDL

CouRage was invited down to introduce his Los Angeles Thieves roster to the stage for the Grand Finals, the first time the community had heard his voice in this manner for four years. Shortly after their victory, the ex-caster turned franchise owner was seen with his mitts on the CDL 2022 trophy.

Having followed the scene closely, especially towards the twilight weeks of the season, CouRage has now detailed four points on how the CDL can help bridge the gap between casuals and the CDL, which has often been the biggest problem since the esports scene entered a franchised league.

The developers have often been criticised for their disconnect between the core game and the esports scene, which only heightened when Warzone took over.

Courage Claims CDL Would 'Pop Off' After Listening To His Opinions

Ahead of the Modern Warfare 2 era, CouRage claimed that the ranked mode will help bridge the gap, as well as making the CDL circuit more accessible.

The content creator claims that having a "Valorant style ranked mode on launch of MW2," followed by "Dope skins, Warzone parachutes, and camos for ranked each season," that line up with each Major CDL event will push players towards the esports scene and ignite their passion.

He continued to claim that accessibility through "open bracket at events" will also help, opening the path to pro, although the franchised league may have its limitations to this suggestion. The Pro-AM did feature a similar format earlier in the Vanguard season, which could become a more prominent feature.

CouRage's thoughts were echoed by much of the fan base, and even other casters have now called on the league to open their ears.
