Pro CDL Player Tommey Claims His Gaming Chair Was Stolen

It may be the season of goodwill, but that hasn't stopped some Christmas Grinch ruining this festive time of year for pro-Call of Duty player Thomas "Tommey" Trewren. Tommey has had his gaming chair stolen and he isn't happy. They say a man is only as good as his tools, and when it comes to being a professional player and full-time streamer, your gaming chair is up there with your hands as a necessity.

While some of us are spreading Christmas cheer, Tommey has been left furious when someone swiped his Mavix gaming chair from the front porch of an Airbnb he was staying at. The incident occurred when Tommey ordered himself a shiny new gaming chair, only to find it had been stolen. The Call of Duty League favourite caught the whole thing on CCTV and is now appealing to the thieve's better nature by asking them to return it.

Posting on Twitter, Tommey shared the footage of the brazen thief chancing their luck and stealing his chair - still in its box. Although Tommey should be getting ready for next Call of Duty League, he's been pulled away from his usual practice to deal with this drama. He explained how he's asked for the security footage “in the hope we’d be able to report and find the man", however, the thief is pretty hidden in their clothing.

In the clip, they're seen driving up to Tommey's Airbnb in their truck, running out, and picking up the box from the doorstep. It was a quick grab and go and they sped off in their car. Tommey wrote, "Merry Christmas, random man. I hope the chair brings you lots of joy". Even if there's little hope of finding out who it is, there could be a chance the thief is exposed.

Worryingly, Tommey might not be the only person who was targeted. In a follow-up tweet, Trewren added, "His tailgate is removed and he has a chain in place. If you look, he also has another box in the back of the truck. Which means he’s purposely driving around and taking multiple packages".

Tommey is a big name in the CoD scene and was the first-ever Warzone player to sign onto Matthew "Nadeshot" Haag's 100 Thieves. With him being such a star in the esports world, the thread soon filled with people offering to buy him a new chair to make sure he's back to playing at his very best. One person wrote, "Shoot me a DM w a PayPal link or something man, we gotta get that replaced for you fr".

There's a happy ending to the whole thing though. Tommey won't have to hope Santa is coming down the chimney with a new chair. Tommey concluded, "Luckily, the company are very very nice and even though it’s no fault of their own are sending out a replacement". So there we have it...a Christmas miracle.
