Call of Duty somehow made its $80 King Kong glove even more ridiculous

Call of Duty has just given its $80 King Kong B.E.A.S.T. Glove a massive upgrade, and with it now yeeting players clean off the map, it's somehow even more ridiculous.

For those who've stuck with Call of Duty for more than the past couple of years, chances are that you've given up on realism a long time ago. Out of all the things that have pulled us out of the mil-sim era, the arrival of King Kong was a major milestone.

Whether it was shooting him in the nuts as an XP farm or trying on gorilla-inspired armour, King Kong definitely brought a new meaning to the term, "guerilla warfare." Out of all the outlandish additions though, it was the beef B.E.A.S.T. Glove with his most recent collab that garnered the most attention.

Call of Duty's B.E.A.S.T. Glove just got a buff

We originally went 'bananas' for Call of Duty's B.E.A.S.T. Glove, which was attainable by buying all four Godzilla x Kong bundles. The glove didn't come with the ability to launch your enemies across the map, and working out at the real-life equivalent of $80, jaws were on the floor that we were expected to splash the cash on such a pricey cosmetic.

The devs are trying to give you more bang for your buck, beefing the B.E.A.S.T. Glove so that it can now yeet your opponents clear off the map. As shown by X account DETONATED, you'll be able to clear enemies into the sun, but is this really enough to warrant an $80 price tag?

As the B.E.A.S.T. Glove was marketed saying it would let you "punch as hard as Kong," it seems this update is a little late. One fan said, "Why did they change it months later?? I would've bought it day one if it did this."

Another added, "That should have been a thing since it came out not now," and a third said, "This is how it should have been. Would have sold way more." Still, considering the cosmetic costs more than an actual copy of MW3, it's truly maddening that anyone is paying for this.

Activision was previously called out for making it seem like the B.E.A.S.T. Glove would be given as a reward, not for simply throwing money at CoD. While the latest change is welcome, it's still left the door open for worries that similar tactics for flogging multiple bundles will be employed in the future.

We know Treyarch is going for a more boots-on-the-ground approach in Black Ops 6, suggesting the weird and wonderful skins will be scaled back. That's a double-edged sword because, for all their faults, wild weed sloth and Nicki Minaj skins are clearly selling.
