Call of Duty: Warzone has grown notorious for its problems in the bugs and cheats department, to such a degree that the team working on the game themselves are looking to move on.

A sequel to Warzone is officially on the way, and fans are excited to see what comes next for the battle royale titan. There are a lot of things that a sequel could accomplish, but most crucially, it has to work - and we're going to have to put our faith in Infinity Ward to create a brand new BR experience that works better than the game we have now.

But, though Call of Duty seems to be rushing to move on, it looks like Raven Software, responsible for Warzone's continuing development, isn't done yet - as a new map could be on the way.

Insider Hints At New Warzone Map

Right when we thought Warzone was done, they pull us back in.

One industry insider has hinted that there could be a new Warzone map on the way, but they haven't revealed if it's a map for the game as we know it, or for its upcoming sequel.

Quote tweeting a post from ModernWarzone pointing to an area of the map on Caldera, Insider Tom Henderson comments "It reminds me of the Observatory POI on the next Warzone map a bit." The what?

It's unclear if Henderson means the current game or the upcoming Warzone 2, but many fans seem to think that he means the latter. An Observatory makes sense for the presumed modern setting of the new battle royale, and already, fans are getting excited. Who knows what the new Warzone will bring - but at least we know there's probably an observatory involved.

What Do We Know About Warzone 2?

All that we know about the upcoming Warzone sequel for sure is what we've been told by Call of Duty themselves - the game was revealed in a surprise blog post that called it a "new Warzone experience" that brings "a massive evolution of Battle Royale with an all-new playspace and a new sandbox mode."

It's also based on a new engine designed for the mainline title Modern Warfare II, and it is being developed by Infinity Ward.

This is a nice little morsel given how little we know about the upcoming Warzone and shows that maybe, this could be the revolutionary step that the game has needed for the longest time. Fingers crossed, eh?

Of course, there is a lot going on in the world of Call of Duty and Warzone with the long-rumoured mobile version finally getting its official reveal.
