Call of Duty: Warzone is coming to mobile. Yes, the long-rumoured mobile version of the smash hit battle royale has finally been confirmed with publishers, Activision Blizzard, announcing a recruitment drive as they gear up for launch.

That likely means that Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile (if that is what it comes to be known as) is not going to be here for a while, with a whole host of roles being advertised, from Senior Producers to UI Artists in positions across a number of Acti-Bliz's development studios.

The announcement also comes with a few details that will get any Warzone fan salivating with promises that the game will be an "all-new, AAA mobile experience" that captures the "thrilling, fluid and large-scale action of Call of Duty: Warzone."

Of course, this isn't the first foray onto mobile devices for Call of DutyCall of Duty: Mobile has been out since October 2019 and even has a battle royale mode, but crucially it is developed by multiple studios outside of Acti-Bliz, namely TiMi Studio and Tencent Games.

The mobile version of Call of Duty: Warzone looks like it will be a much more integrated adaption of the game and who knows maybe, like Fortnite, players will be able to play across and against all platforms.

When Will Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile Come Out?

A billion-dollar question if there ever was one, the Call of Duty series is in flux at the moment with all hands-on deck to get out Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 expected later this year

Then, breaking from tradition, 2023 will not have a mainline game but will instead see continued support for MW2 and Warzone 2, and the release of a previously unannounced third game. We say previously because it is very likely that the unannounced game is in fact Warzone Mobile.

Mobile versions of titles usually have shorter development times and with the basis of much of the game already in place, an early 2023 launch looks likely with an extended beta period followed by a full launch later in the year.
