It's time to admit defeat, as those Mil-Sim Call of Duty days are long behind us. While it started as a slow trickle of crossovers with Rambo, Attack on Titan, and Evil Dead, the rulebook has since gone out of the window with real-life celebrities from Paul Pogba to Nicki Minaj joining the battlefield.
The 'Fortnitification' of the CoDverse has been well documented, and while some love these pop culture crossovers, others lament the destruction of historical accuracy with the mere notion the Terminator would pop up in the trenches of World War II. Still, most agree its crossover Amazon's The Boys has been a home run for Homelander.
Call of Duty fans vow to buy new Firecracker skin
Following the first union with The Boys in Modern Warfare 2, a second collab is now live. The first crossover included Homelander, Black Noir, and Starlight, but now, the latest run of Operator bundles adds A-Train and Firecracker to the mix. As Firecracker's finisher leaks early, fans are already scrambling to get her.
Due to Raven Software battling a deluge of bugs and what's been branded as the 'worst' CoD update of all time, it looks like A-Train and Firecracker have been pushed back. Still, her Finisher has us glad we've saved some CoD Points. As shared by CharlieIntel, Firecracker stops for a selfie as she obliterates her opponent.
One fan cheered, "Woah, Firecracker's finisher move is on 🔥! Can't wait to see it in action!" Another added, "Don't care for the skin itself but I'm def buying it for the finisher," and a third joked, "I need to see this finishing move with 21 Savage."
What makes this unusual is the fact Firecracker isn't even in The Boys and doesn't feature in the comic series of the same name. Valorie Mae Curry is playing Firecracker in live-action, with the character being a parody of X-Men's Jubilee. Putting her in CoD is a clever way to hype The Boys Season 4's eventual release.
What else is in Call of Duty's The Boys crossover?
Coming to MW3 and Warzone, The Boys: Supe Takedown is a week-long event from January 17 to January 24. Alongside Double XP Tokens, there are cosmetic rewards, and the unique Death to Supes weapon camo - Billy Butcher would be proud.
There's the exciting Supe'd Up event, which is a revamped 6v6 version of Kill Confirmed that lets you gain superhero-inspired killstreaks. Nabbing vials of Temp V lets you unlock abilities like A-Train's super speed and Homelander's laser eyes.
Sadly, we don't know when A-Train or Firecracker are landing in the Call of Duty shop. Now that Raven has issued an apology and promised to do better, we hope we'll be squeezing into our spandex sooner rather than later. Either way, it's not much of a The Boys event if its tie-in skins are missing.
