Call of Duty fans have been seething. Obviously. The reveal of a brand-new Fortune's Keep map wasn't exactly met with the love from fans that Warzone was expecting, and though they'd have more content to mess around with, they weren't happy about the presumption that Rebirth Island would have to take the hit to make way for it.

It seems players were a little quick to jump on the hate train, though, as Call of Duty went on to reveal that the arrival of Fortune's Keep wouldn't encroach on Rebirth Island, insisting that the map would return. And now, we know exactly when it will, as Raven confirms the Rebirth Island return date.

When Will Rebirth Island Return To Call Of Duty?

It has finally been revealed when we can expect the fan-favourite Rebirth Island map will be touching down in Warzone once again. For those who were peeved about the arrival of Fortune's Keep and worried it would permanently bulldoze Rebirth, fear not, the old guard will be back very soon.

Rebirth Island has been revealed to return to Warzone on Thursday, June 30. That's a week today. The season has a new structure compared to others, as it's keen to let players run amok in three different locales rather than the typically expected two. Starting next week, you'll be able to do just that in the classic Caldera, Rebirth Island, and Fortune's Keep.

The Alcatraz-inspired Rebirth Island has been through a lot, and after zombies rampaged their way through it, it's stood the test of time. It remains to be seen what's changed by the time Rebirth Island returns, but expect a different version of this series staple.

What Else Is Coming To Warzone Season Four?

The return of Rebirth Island isn't the only change coming this season - the roadmap for the season that began yesterday has revealed that Warzone is getting updates to its main Caldera map, along with the addition ATMs and Black Market Run mini-games. If that wasn't enough, there's the addition of a Golden Plunder mode and the mysterious Rebirth of the Dead - the mode that will bring Zombies back to the game.

Despite complaints that both Vanguard and the OG Warzone are done as we wait for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, Sledgehammer, Treyarch, and Raven are trying to prove there's life in the old gal yet. This season is looking exciting, and it looks to keep players occupied for the time being. Raven Software is fighting to keep all eyes on Warzone until the transition to its sequel - and it looks to be working.
