We love a good comeback story, and while it looks like school is out for the summer at Bullworth Academy, our hopes of more from the Bully series have us swatting up on our homework. While we've heard plenty about a mythical Bully sequel, one former Rockstar employee has hinted at both Bully 2 and Bully 3.

Bully was first released on the PlayStation 2 back in 2006, effectively taking the GTA formula and slapping it on the idea of a naughty schoolboy. Instead of kicking prostitutes, you were firing a slingshot at other pupils. It's since gained a cult classic status, but sadly, there's been no sign of Bully 2.

On the r/GamingLeaksandRumours subreddit, someone noticed the LinkedIn profile of Jon Young. Young claims to have been a Research Video Editor/Producer at Rockstar Games between 2005 and 2018. Among the projects listed, there's a mysterious mention of Bully 2 and Bully 3.

Young's other projects include the defunct Agent, as well as being a Lead Video Editor in the research department for Grand Theft Auto 6 - claiming the latter has been in development since 2015. We should obviously err on the side of caution, as even if Young worked on these, he left Rockstar five years ago.

We aren't alone in our scepticism, as one disgruntled gamer wrote, "After the RDR1 disaster I no longer give a sh*t about anything rockstar leak related." Another added, "At this point I’m expecting a bully port to ps4 in 2025. rockstar makes stuff which doesn’t make sense nowadays."

It's been 15 years since Bully: Scholarship Edition launched a revamp of the OG, and even though we still have fond memories of the title, it could be time to ring the final school bell. As someone else concluded, "I still get excited every time I see a post about bully 2 even tho it's never going to happen."

What happened to Bully 2?

Most likely, Young was working on Bully 2 before it was canned. Still, the idea of Bully 3 is an interesting one. It's possible this was a typo, or, is it possible that a trilogy of Bully games were planned before things went South?

More recently, we heard about how Bully 2 was in development but was seemingly scrapped. In 2021, there were reports that Bully 2 was being made, but as the Rockstar New England team was moved to May Payne 3, Rockstar abandoned the IP in favour of others. That hasn't stopped the Bully rumours from doing the rounds.

Even in October 2022, noted Rockstar leakers claimed the developer could return to Bully once GTA 6 (eventually) releases. There was even hope that Rockstar's mystery VR game could be a Bully port. If that were the case, the divisive developer would go straight to the top of the class.
