Put Captain Solo in the cargo hold, because Epic Games has finally revealed when Boba Fett is coming to Fortnite. While we're used to Star Wars crossovers in Fortnite, Epic has just put a battle royale bounty over Boba's head - just in time for The Book of Boba Fett

Despite only saying a grand total of four lines (and five sentences) in George Lucas original trilogy, Boba Fett became a piece of marketing genius as one of the most popular Star Wars toys ever. Strange, considering he was introduced is the maligned Holiday Special

Even though he apparently met his maker in 1983's Return of the Jedi, fans will know Fett blasted his way back into our lives in Season 2 of The Mandalorian. Temuera Morrison is suiting up for Disney+'s The Book of Boba Fett spinoff, and now, Epic wants some of that beskar.

When Is Boba Fett Coming To Fortnite?

After plenty of speculation and those usual Fornite leaks, Epic has finally confirmed Boba Fett will be blasting out of the Sarlacc on December 24 (7pm ET). Time differences mean that will be midnight on December 25 in the UK.

There are no details on what will be included, but we're guessing there will be a Boba skin, a jetpack back bling, and some sort of Star Wars-inspired emote. The fact partner in crime Fennec Shand is featured in the promo suggests that she could also be an accompaniment skin.

As with the recent drop of Spider-Man: No Way Home Skins, we're guessing all of the above will be available in a bundle for around 2500 V-bucks. You might remember the Chapter 2 Season 5 Battle Pass tied into The Mandalorian and featured Din Djarin as an unlockable skin. This time though, it looks like you'll have to swap your Galactic credits for Boba's armour.

When Is The Book Of Boba Fett Coming Out?

Epic's timing is perfect for Christmas and The Book of Boba Fett's release. There are a whole host of Star Wars shows coming to Disney+, but while we wait for The Mandalorian Season 3 and the Rosario Dawson-led AhsokaThe Book of Boba Fett is filling the Grogu-shaped void in our lives on December 29.

The end of The Mandalorian Season 2 saw Fett and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) setting up shop in Jabba the Hutt's palace. Book will follow Fett as he tries to take over Hutt's criminal empire and rule without cruelty.

Given Boba's fan-favourite status and all those rumours of a Mandalorian video gameFortnite is wise to jump on the bandwagon. Considering how popular the Mando skin was in Chapter 2 Season 5, expect Fett's skin to be soaring out of the shop with his signature jetpack.
