Don't let its frosty name fool you, because the latest Call of Duty game is heating things up. Treyarch has put 2020 in its crosshairs with the much-hyped release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Players are well into exploring the latest entry in the long-running franchise - which is living up to its own tease of being the biggest CoD game to date.

In the run-up to BOCW, Activision did its best to try and stifle leaks, however, the smorgasbord of spoilers made their way online. From the return of Zombies to Campaign plot points and multiplayer maps, there was little left to reveal by the time the game actually made it onto consoles.

Just like multiplayer was (and still is) a huge part of 2019's Modern Warfare, players can't wait to see what Treyarch has mapped out on its march to war. Now that the gloves are off, the spoilers are still coming thick and fast as we head toward Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 - What's been leaked?

With Season 1 just over the horizon, dataminer TailsDoll553 has a plethora of leaks that show off everything from maps to cosmetics and skins. Up first, there's confirmation that main game MVP Russell Adler will be getting an outfit change. The shadowy CIA agent somehow looks even more intimidating with a pair of leather gloves and fedora. There are also a number of cute gun charms, while the Nuketown mannequin being given a suitably '80s makeover.

It's only a small detail, but Modern Warfare's watch cosmetics are back. Instead of being purely for display, the Cold War upgrade seems to let you track your progress as you level up. Elsewhere, there's an impressive Nuketown-inspired blueprint for what looks like a variation on the Hauer 77.

Finally, there's a look at the Season 1 Battle Pass icon. This has led to further questions about how the new additions will be unlocked. Although a lot of it will presumably be locked behind the 100-tier Battle Pass, others could be unlocked via in-game challenges.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 - When is it released?

Treyarch has already locked in some dates for your diary with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1. It just wouldn't be CoD without Nuketown, and surprising no one, developers are rolling out the red carpet on November 24 with the introduction of Nuketown '84. Of course, this is just the first stop on a whistle-stop roadmap. Up next, December 10 will be the big update that should bring all of the above content live.

What's clear is that developers have spared no expense in creating a coherent Cold War experience to start the ball rolling. The game's unique setting has differentiated it from Modern Warfare, and while there are clear differences, Treyarch has used the basic blueprint left behind by Infinity Ward. It has further emphasised that the once rival studios are working closer together to bridge the gap between these two generations fo CoD

The festive season might be a little different this year, but rest assured, there will be plenty of multiplayer madness to enjoy with Season 1. When you're bored of playing family games or listening to the Queen's Speech, why not sneak off and make the most of Cold War's ambitious freshman season? You've earned it!
