For anyone not watching the PlayStation showcase in Wednesday evening, Call Of Duty fans were told that starting Friday 18 September until Sunday 20, PlayStation 4 players would be given the first chance at playing Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer.

The Open Alpha will be available for all PS4 players, regardless of whether or not they’ve already preordered the game, This way, Treyarch will be able to get any well-needed feedback before the game officially launches on November 13.

Unfortunately, if you’re playing on PC or Xbox One, there won’t be an Alpha for you to try out this weekend, although you will still be able to trial the game earlier than it’s official release date with the pre-order open beta on October 15 and October 17-19.

The game also doesn’t require PS+ subscription or game codes, you’ll just need to grab your controller, a can of Monster and get ready for an epic weekend of trialling out the new Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer Alpha.
