In a rather unexpected move, Batman: Arkham Knight has received a quiet update eight years after its release.
Screenshots have started popping up on social media of a new batsuit and fans of the beloved 2015 title are thrilled that devs are still making improvements almost a decade later.
A new suit has been quietly added to Batman: Arkham Knight
Earlier today, Twitter user Venturian628 shared in a now deleted tweet that they had noticed a new suit in Arkham Knight, alongside four screenshots.
The new suit is none other than Robert Pattinson's The Batman Suit and it looks brilliant in-game.
The suit, simply named “The Batman Skin - 2022” was added with very little fanfare as part of an Epic Games update and, as it stands, it doesn’t seem like the suit has been added to Steam, Xbox, or PlayStation versions.
There is a good chance that the update may come to other platforms alongside the Switch version's release on 1 December.
Players are thrilled that the game has been updated
While the update doesn’t seem to have changed much about the gameplay experience as a whole, players are reacting positively on social media.
“Time to replay Arkham Knight then,” said one twitter user.
Another wrote: “New free content for a game that is 8 years old? Massive dubs.”
Players also seem to be happy with the choice of suit added, describing it as “probably the best Batman suit of all time.”
Several players, many of whom have had their love for the series brought back up thanks to the update, called for Rocksteady Studios to create a new Arkham game, though whether or not they will return to the series after seven years is unknown.
