It feels like only yesterday that we jumped on our banshees and soared around above Pandora, and that's largely because it was. Massive Entertainment's Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora only released on December 7. but already, it's having its price slashed in time for Christmas.

An open-world Avatar game has been in the works since way back in 2017, and while we sometimes thought we might never see it, Frontiers of Pandora seems to have come around pretty quickly. For those who are yet to pick up a copy, Ubisoft is offering a massive reduction for the holiday season.

Over on Amazon, you can nab the Limited Edition Frontiers of Pandora for just $49.99 on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. Those in the UK can also get it for £49.99 on both platforms - which feels a little unfair. Still, there are savings galore to be had, with Frontiers being down from its $69.99/£67.99 RRP.

This is the cheapest we can find the game, and with most other sites still selling it for full whack, you'll be hard-pushed to get a better deal. Even in the Boxing Day sales, we'd imagine you'd be saving a couple of dollars, but nowhere near a 30% discount.

Of course, there are questions about why Frontiers of Pandora is currently so cheap. To be discounted so quickly after release might suggest that sales have been a little sluggish, but on the other hand, Ubisoft could be counting on a huge sales spike thanks to the Christmas rush - either way, it's a bargain.

How is Frontiers of Pandora doing?

It's not that Frontiers of Pandora has faced much criticism. Unlike Gotham Knights releasing to a slew of bugs and lukewarm reviews, Frontiers has had a pretty positive reception. The current Metacritic score is a healthy 8.1 from users and a still decent 72 from critics. Our own review awarded the game 3/5.

In a year that's been packed with the likes of the Resident Evil 4 remake and the colossus that is Baldur's Gate 3, it's been tough to get ahead. Frontiers secured fifth place in the UK boxed charts, but has failed to make much of a dent aside from that.

Given that Disney+ was also offering 20% off Frontiers, there are plenty of deals to be had. Considering we're supposed to be in the new-gen era of games costing $70, it's good news for money-conscious fans that they don't seem to be staying there for long.
