During a recent sales report for the previous financial quarter, Ubisoft revealed that Assassin’s Creed Codename Red will be released by March 2025.

A leak which emerged in January this year suggests that the game could come even sooner, with an employee's LinkedIn profile pointing at a 2024 release date.

Assassin’s Creed Red is coming in the next fiscal year

Assassin’s Creed Red was first announced in September 2022 as part of a list of six upcoming games in the franchise.

Red will mark the beginning of what Ubisoft is calling “period three” in the Assassin’s Creed series roadmap.

A recent report on third-quarter sales for the 2024 fiscal year confirmed that the title will be launching in the next fiscal year.

This means we can expect to see it at some point between April 2024 and March 2025.

Co-founder and CEO, Yves Guillemot, said: “We’re gearing up for a very promising line-up for fiscal year 2025, including the upcoming release of Star Wars Outlaws in 2024, which should be a major milestone in the video game industry, especially given the undeniable appeal of this legendary franchise that will be coming for the first time to the Open World territory, as well as Assassin’s Creed Codename Red, set in the long-awaited feudal Japan universe.

“We look forward to revealing the full extent of the creative capabilities of Ubisoft’s teams, who are working hard to make these games a success that will live up to gamers’ expectations.”

As well as confirming that Assassin’s Creed Red is on its way, the report also announced that Star Wars Outlaws would be released before the end of the year.

An Ubisoft employee’s LinkedIn profile suggests the game could be coming sooner than expected

While the report has only given an end date for when we can expect the game to have been released by, a Ubisoft employee’s LinkedIn profile suggests that it could be coming even sooner than expected.

Arisa Lagunzad, who works in Business Development and Brand Partnership at Ubisoft, shared a LinkedIn post about the game which hints at it being the “biggest blockbuster of 2024”.

Though there is no date given, Assassin’s Creed Codename Red would likely have a hard time living up to this title if it hasn’t been released.

The post, which has been translated to English, says: “Ubisoft's the most beloved AAA title with over 200m players as a franchise, Assassin's Creed will finally be set in Japan as a playground!

“Japan was the most requested history/culture from AC fans.

“We are seeking a sponsoring partner for this title Assassin's Creed Codename RED for next year.

“Assassin's Creed is really expanding the multi-media front, with podcasts and a Manga series.

“Do you want to partner with the biggest blockbuster for 2024? I'd like to hear from you!”

Until we get an official release date we won’t know for sure when Assassin’s Creed Red will be released, but it wouldn’t be surprising for it to make itself known before the end of the year.

Not much is known about the game, however leaks regarding the protagonist of the title surfaced in October.
