As with any live-service game, seeing the progression of your account is a huge part of Apex Legends, especially given the fact that some collectables take a massive amount of time to obtain.

Whether it's a 20,000-damage badge, a rare skin, or, perhaps most importantly, any Heirlooms a player has collected, these demonstrate a fan's dedication to the title.

So, if any of these items suddenly disappear without warning, it's guaranteed to cause a commotion in the community. Well, that's what happened with the April 2 patch, where the update seemingly reset a number of players' accounts - even removing their Heirlooms.

Apex Legends patch resets accounts, progression & Heirlooms

Following the April 2 patch, countless Apex players took to social media after booting up the game and realising that all or some of their progression had been reset.

With account levels going down, skins going missing, and Heirlooms mysteriously disappearing, there was a big panic, and countless Reddit threads were created.

Luckily, the devs have finally responded, revealing that they have "rolled out an update to address this issue" and that any account now logging in "will not experience any lost progress or content."

As for those who have already lost progress, they've asked them to "hang tight" while they work on a fix to "restore" all that has disappeared.

While Respawn's communication has been praised during the incident, some players believe they deserve "compensation" after such a massive blunder.

"Give us free packs for the troubles," said one user, with another claiming, "I swear y’all better compensate us with Apex coins or a lot of packs because for the money y’all make this should not even happen AT ALL."

Respawn has compensated players in the past with packs, so it's not out of the question that it will do it again. We'll just have to wait and hope that everyone gets their hard-earned collectables back as soon as possible.
