Apex Legends devs may have accidentally shown Season 21 Legend

We're on the cusp of a new era for Apex Legends, with Season 20 just around the corner. While there is no new character, it's bringing a massive amount of content to the community.

Whether it's the huge armour changes, Legend Upgrades, or the Crafting overhaul, Breakout is a patch that's making significant changes to the fundamental gameplay of Respawn's Battle Royale.

Despite this, the lack of a new character has been disappointing for some fans who love seeing a new face on the roster every three months.

Luckily, the devs did offer a sneak peek at what's coming in the future, with a glimpse at a Legend potentially coming in Season 21. While exciting, players are convinced it was an accident.

Upcoming character shown in Apex Legends dev dairy

Ahead of the release of Season 20, Respawn decided to release a dev diary going over all of the changes coming in the major patch. This is something the community really appreciate, as hearing directly from those who make the game allows fans to understand why certain decisions have been made.

During this video, one of the clips shows a squad locking in their Legends. At first, this just seemed like any other Legend screen, but eagle-eyed players noticed something extremely exciting.

As showcased by AlphaINTEL, a mysterious new Legend was available to select, which suggests they could be planned for Season 21.

Very little is known about the character, but we have now been given a first look at their face. They seem to have huge blonde or white hair, with paint or a mask covering the upper half of their face. It's worth noting that they're also smiling menacingly, which gives us a hint about their personality.

Leaked Apex Legends character is a Skirmisher

Aside from their face, we know the upcoming Legend is a Skirmisher, as they're listed in that category during character selection.

This may not be much to go on, but it does reveal that they're likely to have an aggressive kit with damage and crowd control. We'll have to see if more details are uncovered about this mysterious Legend in the near future.

While great for fans, this is most likely a mistake from Respawn, which seems to have used the wrong clip. Luckily, it hasn't spoilt much for upcoming seasons and has only made fans more excited to find out more.
