Anyone who has previously played Apex Legends on April Fool's Day knows to expect some absolutely wild encounters when queueing for the battle royale. While the devs never announce an official update, strange and hilarious changes always seem to arrive.

In 2023, April Fool's Day was themed around the iconic Mozambique, with special versions of the shotgun appearing in the ground loot.

These included a fully auto version with inverted recoil, a laser beam Mozam, a burst variation, and a one-shot Mozam with one bullet per mag.

In 2024, Respawn decided to make guns propel you into the air when you fire them at the ground. As you would expect with Rampart's Ultimate, this gave her the ability to fly, and fans are loving it.

Rampart is capable of flying in the Apex Legends April Fool's event

As showcased on the Apex Legends subreddit, no one has received a better April Fool's Day buff than Rampart this year.

Anyone with a Sheila can take to the skies by simply aiming the minigun at the ground and firing. As a result, Amped Modders have been gliding through the air on Olympus and Storm Point, appearing out of nowhere to wipe entire squads.

Although mainly an addition added just for fun, the flying Sheila buff can actually be extremely useful for making massive rotations across the map.

It's also handy if your squad is about to get wiped and you need to make a quick getaway. Some fans adore the minigun flight buff so much, that they want it to become a permanent feature, but there's almost no chance that will happen.

As expected, Respawn has knocked it out of the park with April Fool's once again this year, with the community heralding it as the "best event" to date.

With the changes only lasting 24 hours, the devs can afford to go as wacky and as wild as they want, with them certainly taking the opportunity this time around.

"I'm not sleeping tonight, playing this as much as I can," said one user, with another claiming, "Seriously had a blast playing today! Seeing Ramparts flying across the map was legendary."

While not an official update, it's one everyone looks forward to, and now, it's just another 365 days until the wild shenanigans can begin again in the Outlands.
