Watching your six is about to have a whole new meaning in Call of Duty, as the first-person shooter franchise is expanding on its dice collection.

Having already released an official Monopoly board, Activision is setting its sights on another table-top time passer, branching away from the comfort of your couch to the leather seats around the kitchen table. That's right, an official Call of Duty board game has just been announced!

While a large selection of the CoD fan base eagerly awaits any details about the next Call of Duty game (the 2023 instalment that will succeed Modern Warfare 2), few were expecting to get their hands dirty in a board game.

But Activision has now confirmed a collaboration with Arcane Wonders to bring out a new tactical board game tailored specifically to Call of Duty fans. We've previously seen Elden Ring and Apex Legends board games, so it's about time CoD got in on the action.

"Get ready for the ultimate Call of Duty tabletop experience! We're excited to announce the upcoming release of Call of Duty: The Board Game, a thrilling new strategy game based on the popular video game franchise," says the blurb.

Call of Duty's board game promises 'intense combat' and 'tactical planning'

The finer details of how the Call of Duty board game plays out are yet to have been revealed, and a Kickstarter launch is expected later this summer. However, the creators have promised the game will focus on tactics and planning.

"With intense combat, tactical planning, and stunning artwork featuring miniatures of iconic soldiers and weapons from the series, this game is sure to satisfy any Call of Duty fan. Keep an eye out for the Kickstarter launch in late summer 2023 and be among the first to experience this epic board game!" the creators said.

Iconic characters like Captian Price, Soap, and Ghost are all expected to feature in the board game, although let's hope there won't be any pay-to-win bundles that need to be bought from the store...
