A new Resident Evil remake is coming - and you're choosing the game
The dust has all but settled on the launch of the remade Resident Evil 4, and blimey, was it a good time.
The game was long-awaited to say the least, and in a near-impossible feat, the game was just about as good as fans hoped that it would be. It has practically become the perfect way to experience the classic survival-horror experience, and while Leon has never looked so good (phwoar), he's never played so good either.
But now, the conversation has turned to what's next. Thankfully, remakes aren't done just yet, and there's some great news for the hopes for your favourite franchise title making it to the latest console generation.
Capcom wants you to choose its next Resident Evil remake
If you've got some big ideas about what the next Resident Evil remake should be, then there's good news - because the next game to be remade is in your hands.
A new survey has been sent out to fans of Resident Evil, asking them various questions about their thoughts and feelings about the franchise, and the questions are pretty standard - right until the end. The last questions ask players for "any opinions/comments you may have about the activities on the various [RE sites]," and most importantly, "any Resident Evil games you want remade." Bingo.
It's definitely an interesting question, as it implies that players could actually decide what the next remade game is, if they turn out in droves for their favourite titles.
What Resident Evil game should be remade next?
Resident Evil is a very unique franchise when it comes to its atmospheres and gameplay styles, so it's hard to know where to turn next.
Some players want the action-heavy Resident Evil 5 next, with other players asking for the Revelations and Code: Veronica spin-offs instead. Plus, the original Resident Evil game could do with a remake in the style of the three third-person titles we've had so far, even in spite of its semi-recent remake.
Whatever fans choose, at least it'll be a crowd-pleaser. Give us Chris Redfield punching a boulder into smithereens in 4K, and we'll be happy.
