To play with friends in Marauders, you'll need to create a crew and invite your friends. Alternatively, you can create the crew yourself and give people access to the name and password so they can find it through the search tool.

In order to create a crew and play as a team, hit the 'Create Crew' button in the top left of the main play screen, above the launch option. Hitting that will prompt you to set the name and password for your new crew, so set this to whatever you want.

You can also set it to not have a password, if you're wanting to allow randoms to join your crew. Be wary of this though, as anyone could join your team and then kill you as soon as you spawn in, stealing all your gear in the process. It's a marauder eat marauder world out there so choose carefully who you trust.

Once you've set up your crew, you will be able to either invite your friends, or see who has joined your group through the search function. A maximum of four people can be in a single crew, so you are only able to have three additional players join your team. In order to invite your friends, just hit the plus button next to the empty slot, and it will take you to the Steam overlay where you can send the invite.

Once the desired amount of players have joined your group, you all need to ready up before setting off into the raid, which can be done by pressing the 'set as ready' button below the player slots.

How Many Ships Per Crew In Marauders?

One thing that is slightly unclear if you've not set off in a team before is how many ships are there per crew. When you play solo, each marauder has their own ship, but regardless of how many members you have in a crew, you only enter and extract from the rain in a single ship.

Furthermore, the ship in question is the one owned by the captain of the crew, which is usually the person who has set up the whole operation. This means that the captain is the only one to lose the ship if you all die, so it might be a good idea to compensate them kindly for their sacrifice.

Furthermore, in some of the ships beyond the introductory frigate you have a shared stash, meaning that every single player in the team can use this to safely store and exchange items between each other.

Finally, players not driving the ship aren't just restrained to waiting around, as each member can take on various duties like manning the turrets or scouting for intel to help the crew survive in space.

So, that's everything you need to know about how to play with friends in Marauders. With this guide, you'll be able to team up in no time, and hopefully stand a much better chance of surviving the space wasteland that lies ahead of you. Check out this Marauders closed beta release date guide for everything you need to know about checking out the game early.
