Elden Ring Chelona’s Rise: How To Solve Chelona’s Rise Puzzle
Chelona’s Rise in Elden Ring is one of the many tower puzzles you may stumble across in the Lands-Between. With only a cryptic riddle from the imp statue nearby, Elden Ring will require you to find and attack three ghost-like turtles. Where Is Chelona’s Rise In Elden Ring?

Chelona’s Rise is located in the Moonlight Altar Plateau, an area above Liurnia of the Lakes that is only unlocked after progressing through Ranni’s questline, and after beating Astel, Naturalborn of the Void. As such, this area can be easily missed if Ranni’s questline isn’t followed far enough to unlock the Deep Ainsel Well lift.

Elden Ring Chelona’s Rise: Turtle Locations
As with many tower puzzles in Elden Ring, the imp statue will require you to ‘seek three great wise beasts’ meaning you’ll have to locate three turtles and attack them. These are different from the standard turtles in Elden Ring, they take on a translucent spectral appearance and can be easily missed. Here are all three of the turtle locations needed to solve the riddle.
First Turtle

The first turtle is relatively close, as you approach the tower it will be clinging to the cliff-side to the west of the tower. You’ll be able to interact with it by using an AOE spell, throwable, or bow.

Travel east from the tower, following close to the cliff edge that curves around. The turtle will be on an outcropping directly under the cliff. This one will require you to use a throwable or use your bow to interact with it.

The last location will be back to where you came from, southeast of Ringleader’s Evergaol specifically. The turtle will be flying in the air and seemingly inaccessible. Luckily, there is a Spiritspring nearby that you can use to knock into the turtle and lift the seal on the tower.

Once you ascend the tower to the chest at the top, you’ll be rewarded with Ranni’s Dark Moon sorcery, which is one of the most powerful in the game. Costing a substantial 68 intelligence to cast, it summons an actual moon from the player to come crashing down on enemies. As an after-affect, it will also apply frostbite build-up, for devastating results.
