Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4 release date, platforms & trailers
Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4 Release Date
At the time of writing, there is currently no Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4 release date. Although the above Japanese trailer was dropped at the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour and then tweeted on its official page, we weren't given much extra information to go on.
Along with the Tweet's caption merely translated as "Dragon Ball Sparking! series latest information has been lifted!", the trailer itself only mentions two things "get ready for battle" and "a new sparking begins" - so anything even close to a release window remains to be seen.
Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4 platforms
Bandi Namco is yet to announce the list of Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4 platforms, but it's easy to speculate based on both past Budokai Tenkaichi games and Dragon Ball games in general.
Although the 2005 original Dragon Ball Z: Budokai game was a PS2 exclusive, titles in the series as a whole have made their way to other platforms in one form or another. For example, both Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and 3 were also released on Nintendo Wii as well as PS2.
The series even eventually made its way to Xbox 360 and PS3 as well in the form of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai HD Collection - a remastered collection containing Budokai Tenkaichi 1 and 3.
With the wider platform releases of other Dragon Ball games in recent years like FighterZ, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, and the Xenoverse series - it's highly likely Bandai Namco won't have Tenkaichi 4 pinned down as PlayStation exclusive.
While it's also expected to release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms, Bandai Namco hasn't gotten to making its big titles current-gen exclusives just yet. As a result, it's feasible to expect we'll also see Budokai Tenkaichi 4 on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and perhaps even PC.
Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4 trailers
With the aforementioned Japanese trailer being shared by the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour, we've yet to see an official English or Japanse trailer drop from Bandai Namco or Toei themselves.
At the time of writing, the only versions of the English trailer we have available are those uploaded by news channels like GamersPrey as shown above.
Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4 gameplay
Although we got some quick nostalgic looks into the fighting gameplay from past Budokai Tenkaichi games, we got a very small peek at Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4 gameplay.
Despite not seeing any actual fights or any other game mechanics, the above trailers showed a nice tranisition during Goku's power-up, showcasing the graphical update on the new engine.
With the trailer showing off Goku's Super Saiyan Blue transformation, it's safe to believe that Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4 is indeed a sequel to the previous games - one that will also feature the many other new transformations, events, and characters featured in the Dragon Ball Super anime and movies which have come out since Budokai Tenkaichi 3.
- Here is if Dragon Ball: The Breakers is free-to-play.
