Call of Duty's balancing efforts have rarely swayed in favour of the franchise's developers, and now, Raven Software is being called to task over a major Warzone Season 3 nerf. Let's be honest, the battle royale giant is in need of constant balancing, what with the new weapons arriving in the game constantly and other weapons becoming so overpowered that they become the new meta.

It's crucial for Warzone to keep power moving around, even if it means that the players whose favourite guns are in the firing line get a little angry with Raven. It's just a symptom of being a competitive game, to be perfectly honest - but a recent nerf has really upset fans.

What Is The Warzone Season 3 Nerf?

A lot of gamers are frustrated with a new Warzone Season 3 nerf that was introduced in the recent Reloaded update. Annoyingly, it has practically turned shotguns into confetti cannons.

Though Warzone shotguns aren't particularly leading the charge on the most powerful weapons in the game, a lot of Call of Duty fans opt to hang onto them as a secondary weapon. Sadly, their damage has been drastically reduced for many different shotguns.

In the latest patch notes, it has been revealed that damage for the Streetsweeper, the Gallo SA12, the JAK-1, the Origin 12, the R9-0, and Gracey Auto have been reduced by a whopping 20%. A lot of fans feel that this has made the weapons useless, especially considering that they weren't front and centre of the shooter's meta in the first place.

Has The Warzone Season 3 Nerf Doomed Shotguns?

As the news has been shared on Reddit, some have suggested that shotguns have become so useless that they're hardly worth being a part of Warzone's loot pool at all. "They shouldn't even allow shotguns in Warzone if that's the case," replied one user to a post revealing the news. "Some shotguns don't even have enough rounds needed to down some players."

"RIP Gallo," says another. "You were already on life support, but this nerf finally put you in the grave." It's sad to see an entire category of weapons be made even more redundant by a sweeping set of nerfs, but frankly, the weapons were barely used in the first place. We can hope that Raven fixes this problem before Warzone 2 rolls around - but it might be wishful thinking.
