Some Warzone players have expressed their frustrations with the notifications that frequently appear on-screen and block their view, and are calling for changes to the game.

Call of Duty: Warzone can be a very busy experience for players due to the large maps, high number of players, and now even the notifications that constantly flash on the screen. Warzone has a number of notifications that appear for things like in-game events, bounty collections, fire sales, and much more. But to make sure everyone is aware of them, they appear front and centre for all players. This causes some issues with visibility, and now players are calling for Raven Software to make alter how the notification system works.

Warzone Players Tired Of Notifications Blocking The Screen

Warzone notifications blocking players' views is nothing new, but the discourse surrounding it was recently highlighted after a Reddit post on the Warzone subreddit. User u/PadThai42 brought attention to the issue in a post titled "the signs in the middle of our screen need to change," which featured a video of the player running around the Prison Block point of interest. As they're exploring, a notification that reads "Resurgence Will Be Disabled Soon" pops up and obscures another player hiding down the hall, leading to PadThai42's death.

Many users in the thread shared the poster's frustrations with the way notifications work both from a visual and audio standpoint. One user commented, "given the terrible audio, there is also some very loud audio lines which are totally not needed," and another echoed this sentiment, saying "the audio is ridiculous in this game. Every noise apart from footsteps are ear bleeding loud."

Another user pointed out that when running Warzone with 80 field of view, the notification issues are particularly bad, which is the default FOV for consoles. This means only PC users currently have a way of alleviating the issue by increasing the FOV, but this can potentially affect performance and cause headaches for more optically sensitive players.

Activision and Raven Software have not made any comment on the notifications as of writing this, but it could be something they are looking to improve for Warzone 2, which is set for release later in the year. It may be too late for them to make changes of this scale to the current version of Warzone, but as players continue to complain about the user interface problems, the developers may implement options to change the position, size, and noise of notifications.
