Battle Royale titles, historically, haven't enjoyed much success in their ports over to mobile gaming.

Fortnite was a disasterclass on mobile, even before the still-ongoing legal bout with Apple, and Apex Legends was shut down after a measly attempt too.

But Warzone already looks to be writing that wrong, and it's proving to be more popular than the console game.

Warzone Mobile trailer proves it's more popular than console title already

Just one week after airing on YouTube, the Warzone Mobile trailer has proven that the handheld app is already more popular than the console game, and not just in its current state, but its pre-launch following.

Having been dubbed "beautiful" by fans, amid the re-emergence of Verdansk, the Warzone Mobile trailer has surpassed the views of its big brother.

In five days, the Warzone Mobile trailer has over 11 million views, which has dwarfed that of the original Warzone trailer which still sits south of nine million, four years down the line.

Well, going off CoD Mobile, the popularity of Warzone, and this massive interest in the app through its trailer cinematic, you'd be quite entitled to hedge your bets on Warzone Mobile being quite the hit.

There have been a few snags though, as Warzone Mobile has waged war against other branches of CoD, and there appears to be an ongoing pay-to-win disparity for controller users.

But, if Warzone's lockdown hype was anything to go off, this new era of battle royale gaming might just be the spark that reinvigorates the Call of Duty series.
