The debate between MnK and controller in Call of Duty has been raging on for years, and it feels like it's never going to get settled.

If you've been following the complaints of the community, you'll know countless competitors believe aim assist is heavily overtuned.

MnK users argue that those on controller barely have to track their enemies, and the camera locks onto opponents, making it easy to land every single bullet.

While calls to nerf aim assist as a whole are common, MnK players have come up with an alternative solution. Although it's minor, they believe it could be enough to finally make AA a little more "balanced."

Warzone fans call for aim assist to "break on foliage"

Taking to the CODWarzone subreddit, user Candle_Honest decided to vent their frustrations over the current state of aim assist.

For them, one of the most unfair aspects of the feature is that it doesn't switch off when a controller user is firing at an enemy through foliage. As a result, there's no need to maintain a line of sight or predict where an enemy is running, as the aim assist will lock onto the target for them.

"Complete bulls**t, I can't track someone because they proned behind grass mid-gunfight on a hill with gun smoke filling my screen yet they can perfectly track regardless on controller."

In their opinion, a solid nerf to aim assist would be to make it switch off when an opponent is hidden behind cover. This would at least add a level of counterplay and lead to less frustrating moments for MnK users.

MnK Warzone fans slam aim assist as a free "aimbot"

While switching off AA for foliage would be a good start in the eyes of some players, others want aim assist completely nerfed into the ground.

For them, the feature is a free "aimbot" built into the game that's supported by the devs, and it's unbelievable that it has remained OP for this long.

"As long as this frankly pretty ignorant community does not want to see the simple truth (aim assist is just an aimbot and removes skill from the game), there is no incentive for the devs to change anything."

The devs have remained tight-lipped on aim assist for a while as it's a complicated topic, so for the time being, there's very little hope that substantial changes are on the cards.
