With only five weeks or so left of Warzone action, a wealth of fans are wanting to go out with a bang. There's no better way to enjoy what Warzone has to offer than by going full circle and returning Verdansk to us in its original state.

Casuals want it, streamers want it, and pros want it. So, why not just give us a slither of Verdansk action to allow us to reminisce over the good times?

Well, intentionally or not, the Call of Duty: Warzone developers have decided to troll the community with one huge middle finger in Warzone's final hours. Instead of spending our time celebrating the battle royale's legacy, this has rattled some hopeful players.

'Verdansk' Playlist Added To Warzone

Following the latest playlist update, fans were shocked to find that a mini-royale playlist had been added, which detailed that Verdansk was back.

The usual mini-royale game mode description incorrectly displayed Verdansk instead of Caldera, tricking fans - who were already calling for the OG map's return - into thinking the lockdown playground was actually back.

The developers soon corrected their error silently, but fans have been left with quite a sour anti-climatic taste in their mouths.

Will Verdansk Come Back To Warzone In Its Final Weeks?

Some were quick to express their less-than-happy thoughts on social media. "Accidentally, my ass," one fan said, adding, "That was 100% on purpose, just think of how many people logged on after seeing just one clip on TikTok".

However, more optimistic fans thought that this error was actually a slip-up forced by an incoming update that would return Verdansk. Why now, out of all of the weeks, would Verdansk's name crop up if we weren't being treated to a final hoo-hah?

Sadly, even though the OG map will be played on CoD: Mobile, Raven Software has been very vocal about ruling out a returning console version because a huge update would likely be needed. It's more the fact of an April Fools' Day prank being cast early. Bad ju-ju is coming your way, Raven.
