A good six weeks after Warzone launched its Modern Warfare 3 integration, we're finally set to have the first major update, as Season 1 Reloaded awaits.

The mid-season update will bring forth a number of new features, including Ranked, and will also see Urzikstan become the playground for some brand-new guns.

The latter weaponry will likely come into the game with a resounding mark of success, but what about the others? Are we really getting more of this painstaking MTZ Interceptor meta?

Warzone devs confirm MTZ Interceptor nerfs

As of January 11, the devilish MTZ Interceptor is getting nerfed, ending that DMR-zone 2.0

The two-tap gun has been a heavy favourite for most players, albeit begrudgingly, as it was the only viable gun if you wanted to be the last player standing.

Now, it's expected to be on the receiving end of a heavy ner, as Raven Software announced a weapon balancing update.

"Tomorrow's Warzone update addresses balance concerns with the MTZ Interceptor, alongside several other bugs," they said on Twitter.

Warzone Season 1 Reloaded to re-jig the weapon meta

Weapon case WZ

According to WZRanked, a weapon meta website, the MTZ Interceptor is up there as one of the strongest guns in the game, alongside the BAS-B and RAM-7.

It's likely that the new TAQ Evolvere will rival the Pulyemot 762 as the meta now, with LMGs getting their chance to shine in the limelight.

"Next week's Season 1 Reloaded update will include a more comprehensive balance pass to weapons we've been monitoring since launch," Raven Software added.

Many other fans have also hoped for a fix to the one-shot snipers ahead of Ranked's release, although it's not too likely to happen.

At least, for the meantime, we might have a much more balanced meta in Warzone to contend with, as we wave goodbye and good riddance to the MTZ Interceptor.
