Warzone 2 could have the greatest weaponry, movement, graphics, and general gameplay ever created, but if the map isn't spot on, the sequel will be shut down quicker than Caldera. So, who better to draw inspiration from than the ominous Grand Theft Auto series?

GTA has crafted some iconic maps over its 25-year lifeline. Vice City, Los Santos, and San Andreas have all become some of the most loved locations in the entire gaming sphere.

Now, it appears that Warzone 2 developers have been keeping a close eye on the lawless towns.

Leaker Claims Modern City POI 'Looks Like GTA'

Whether the addition sex into Modern Warfare 2 was a result of the developers sleazing in the GTA strip clubs is yet to be known, but according to leaks, Warzone 2's main POI is set to look quite like something ripped out of Los Santos.

Content creator "Metaphor" has made a habit of leaking Warzone 2 map details, after claiming to have played the game in a closed test. After originally claiming that the map is "beautiful", they have now revealed that Modern City will look like something taken out of GTA.

The leaker also detailed that it will appear similar in design to Downtown from Verdansk, although the GTA-style buildings will likely brighten the area in comparison to the dull and grey design from the past.

Another Warzone 2 Map Is Apparently In Development

Rebirth Island added a welcome change of pace for Warzone players in the last year, with the small-scale resurgence map becoming more popular than Caldera itself. With Warzone 2's map coming in as the lone landscape, fans have now been wondering if another Rebirth/Fortune's Keep-esque design will also be added.

Metaphor has now stoked that fire, claiming that "Was told another map is already being developed for 'big BR'," and while that's not necessarily a mimic of the small-scale maps, it would be a welcome addition to have a change of scenery every now and again.

With hope, GTA's infectious colour palette will be one of the main features drawn into Warzone 2, with the dreary sight of Caldera and Verdansk taking its toll on our withering corneas.
