When it comes to close-quarter gunfights in Warzone 2, nothing does it better than an SMG. Equipped with lethal TTKs, brilliant mobility, and fast ADS times, these pint-sized weapons are designed to thrive in enclosed spaces, but choosing the best of the bunch in WZ2 can be tough.

As a result, it's sometimes better to let an expert do the thinking for you, that way, your SMG loadout is guaranteed to be top-tier.

Luckily, Warzone 2 guru WhosImmortal has unveiled the best 'aggressive' SMG for racking up kills in your matches, as well as a meta setup to push the gun's strengths to the limit.

  • If you're looking for a WZ2 tier list that includes the best loadouts in the current meta, check out our best Warzone 2 guns hub.

'Aggressive' VEL-46 Warzone 2 loadout is top-tier

The VEL-46 is an incredible SMG, and that's reflected in its popularity in the current meta. According to WZRanked, the gun has a 3.2% pick rate, making it the third most used SMG in the game.

  • Muzzle: Lockshot KT85
  • Underbarrel: Schalger Tango
  • Laser: VLK LZR 7MW
  • Stock: Demo RXT Stock
  • Rear Grip: Schalger Soldier Grip

For WhosImmortal, the VEL-46 is a deadly pick in WZ2 thanks to its "low recoil" and "really good TTK." This combination of strengths is hard to find in a weapon, especially one that's so devastatingly strong at close quarters.

The build above aims to transform the VEL-46 into the most 'aggressive' SMG possible and focuses on maximising the SMG's mobility. This makes it easy to clear out enclosed spaces and force enemies to take gunfights on your terms.

Although the VEL-46 can hold its own at mid-range if necessary, it can't dish out reliable damage at long-distance. As a result, we recommend using the Overkill perk, so you can gain access to a second primary.

This allows you to use either the Kastov 762 or the ISO Hemlock, which are both top-tier guns for laser-beaming foes from afar. With WhosImmortal's VEL-46 loadout and a strong AR build in your hands, you'll have all the tools to pick up victories in WZ2 and dominate your opponents.
