Warzone slips into the battle royale experience as the Goldilocks of BRs. With the tempo of Apex Legends, visuals of PUBG, and the map designs of Fortnite - sprinkled with classic Call of Duty combat play - it becomes the perfect medley. However, Escape From Tarkov has become a significant influence for the sequel and new era of Warzone. With it comes a shift in speed, tempo, and match length.

Warzone's game length, on the normal playlists (non-resurgence and plunder), lasted around 25 minutes, maximum. If players fragged out the entire lobby, then this would be much quicker, with some games only taking 20 mins.

Determined by the encroaching toxic gas storm that kills players, the Warzone 2 speed has now been found to be significantly slower, with games taking up to half an hour.

JGOD Cracks Down Warzone 2 Game Length

Having played the beta during the Call of Duty: Next showcase, popular streamer and analyst James "JGOD" Godoy has cracked the numbers for Warzone's length. According to JGOD, the pace of the storm closing in has been increased by five minutes.

The streamer found that the time for a Warzone circle to take over the map in Caldera fully takes 25 minutes and 4 seconds, while in Al Mazrah, the largest map yet, it will take 29 minutes and 25 seconds.

In addition to this, there will be another 90 seconds added to the first circle. This increases the time it takes to loot up and find conflicts, which again slows down Warzone 2's pacing compared to the nippy OG.

Warzone 2 players will also see a shift in mid-game speed. The fourth circle, where we will have a new 'split' approach (three separate gaps in the gas storm which will eventually move into a common ground), takes nearly double the time to form as the fourth circle in Verdansk and Caldera.

Games seldom take the full time to finish, with most lobbies lasting until the 7th or 8th circle before one team has killed the rest. But, the mid-game delays will likely see less action in this period and a cause for a more tactical approach to surviving.

In comparison, Apex Legends takes under 20 minutes (19:35) for the circle to completely collapse (heat shields and Wraith portals can extend this by 20 seconds in certain circumstances) and Fortnite is approximately 24:45 minutes long, making Warzone 2 the longest of the arcade-style BRs.
