"This is Ripley, last survivor of the Nostromo, signing off." Ever since Sigourney Weaver uttered those immortal words in 1979, the Alien franchise has cemented itself as one of the horror greats alongside HalloweenFriday the 13th, and A Nightmare on Elm Street

There have been some pretty awful Alien games over the years (we're looking at you Colonial Marines), but we can almost universally agree Creative Assembly's Alien: Isolation is a shining beacon in the dark abyss of space. Now, someone has shown off an Unreal Engine 5 Alien: Isolation to remind us what a new-gen remake could look like.

What Is The Unreal Engine 5 Alien: Isolation Remake?

If you haven't played Alien: Isolation, the survival horror takes place 15 years after the events of Ridley Scott's seminal movie and follows Amanda Ripley - daughter of Weaver's Ellen Ripley. Trapped aboard the Sevastopol space station with one of the titular Xenomorphs and some rogue androids, she has to use stealth tactics to evade this unkillable machine.

In the eight years since Isolation first released, it's gained a pretty lucrative reputation of being one of the scariest video games of all time. We've also seen it ported to Nintendo Switch in 2019 and mobile last year, but the question is, when will we get the inevitable remaster. Now, YouTuber Enfant Terrible has shown off just how good an Unreal Engine 5 Alien: Isolation could look.

Although it's only a fan concept trailer, it looks like this has been cooked up in the Creative Assembly lab. The atmospheric footage crawls through familiar locales like the cryo pod room, med bay, and the mainframe area of the stoic MOTHER computer. We also get a spine-tingling glimpse of the Xeno - proving why we need an Unreal Engine 5 Alien game yesterday.

Will We Get An Alien: Isolation Sequel?

Fans were suitably impressed with the Unreal Engine 5 Alien: Isolation. One supporter wrote, "As if I didn’t already want a sequel to this game enough, now making it Unreal Engine 5 seems like it needs to happen even more." Another added, "Daaam. I suggest the people who made this please make the sequel because this looks daam good." But, where is our sequel?

Ever since Epic Games unveiled The Matrix Awakens, we've been obsessed with seeing where the future is going. Fans have been using the Unreal Engine 5 tech to give us the likes of a mythical Superman game, and while Creative Assembly hasn't officially given word on an Isolation sequel, it's easy to imagine Amanda's story continuing. With sequels and remakes multiplying like a nest of Xenomorphs, we're holding out hope that someone in space can hear us screaming for Creative Assembly to revisit this world.
