The year 2020 has been one of the most significant years for mobile games, thanks to COVID-19. Not only competitive games, but also casual ones, saw a substantial spike in the active player base. Mobile games are developing at an enormous speed, and the ease and the mobility of the system are making it more widespread and if you want to enjoy these during the holidays, here is the list of top five mobile games that you should try:

Among Us

Among Us is undoubtedly the highest trending game that we saw in 2020, regardless of the platform. The game is pretty simple and easy, and up to 10 players can play on a single server. One, two, or three of them will be imposters, and the rest of the players will be crewmates. While the crewmates need to complete the given tasks to win, imposters have to sabotage the missions or kill the others. 

If the crewmates find out who the imposters are before they kill everyone, they win the game. The interactive and straightforward nature of the game made it popular among all the players globally. Among Us also won the ‘Mobile Game of the Year’ award in the Game Awards 2020. The game is available to download for free on both Android and iOS.

League of Legends: Wild Rift

League of Legends: Wild Rift is a MOBA game based on the original League of Legends, which was initially released for PC in 2009. Wild Rift shares a lot of similarities with the original version, but the game is tweaked a bit for the mobile. The game is currently in the open beta testing phase and recently got launched in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.

If you are a MOBA fan, Wild Rift is one of the best games you can play on mobile with your friends over the Christmas holidays. If you reside in one of the locations with access to the open beta, you can download the game from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

Call of Duty: Mobile is one of the most popular multiplayer mobile games available right now. The game has the infamous Call of Duty 5v5 multiplayer modes with iconic maps like Nuketown, Raid, Killhouse, and a battle royale mode. COD Mobile also offers impressive weapons, skins, and many in-game items to help the players against their enemies. Not only this, but you can also create a private lobby and play with your friends and challenge them with your gun skills. Call of Duty: Mobile was also nominated in the Game Awards 2020 for the ‘Mobile Game of the Year’ award.

The game was released in September 2020 and became one of the highest-grossing games in revenue, accumulating nearly $400 million since its initial launch. Genshin Impact was also one of the games nominated for the ‘Mobile Game of the Year’ award.

Mortal Kombat is a classic arcade game, and with the development in technology, the game found its way on mobile devices. If you are a Mortal Kombat fan, then you should definitely experience the gameplay during the holidays. The game has the same mechanics as the original version, and the button layout on a mobile device is easy to use and understand. The game is available on smartphones for almost five years now, and you can download it for free on both Android and iOS.
