Timothée Chalamet's Secret Gaming Channel Exposed
Timothée Chalamet's filmography has been growing exponentially over the past few years, with the rising star heading the current smash-hit Dune. However, it’s been revealed that the actor used to head up a YouTube channel when he was younger, showcasing custom Xbox 360 controllers.
What Was Timothée Chalamet's Secret YouTube Channel?
The channel in question is called ModdedController360, which he ran back in 2010. Motherboard at Vice decided to stage an investigation into the channel to see if they could prove it was him. According to their article, the theory that it belonged to Chalamet was born back in 2018, when an Instagram fan page called ‘ChalametUniverse’ discovered he had liked one of the videos.
In their investigation, Vice go quite in-depth in their quest to prove it is Chalamet. The evidence that they mostly circulate around concerns a scar on the actor's left ring finger, his voice (which was similar to a Law & Order episode he appeared in), plus analysis of the chair in the videos compared to a picture posted on his Instagram. They conclude at the end of their investigation that it is definitely him.
Has Timothée Chalamet Confirmed This?
As a matter of fact, yes, just earlier this week too. In an interview with YouTuber Nate Hill, with his co-star Zendaya, Chalamet admitted to being the owner of the channel. Going into more detail, he explained the process of spray-painting the controllers. He only sold three controllers altogether, and despite them taking hours of work - he sold them for just $10 each.
He also talked about his history of playing video games, explaining that Nintendo titles like Luigi’s Mansion and Super Smash Bros. were his first forays into gaming. In his formative years, he got into the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare titles as well, which is around when he started the ModdedController360 channel.
As a fan of video games, he must be excited with the recent inclusion of his and Zendaya’s characters in Fortnite, as well as rumours of a revived Dune game in the works that he could potentially be a part of. Dune is also still in cinemas and some streaming services, and its success has seen the sequel greenlit already.
