In the world of controllers, the DualShock might have the edge with its remarkable next-gen features, but Xbox has been doing a good job at keeping up for the competitive gamers. The Xbox Elite controller is a bold step up from the Xbox Series controller, offering brand-new features and buttons to give you an in-game edge akin to that of the real gaming professionals.

It comes with saveable profiles, enhanced grip and back paddles to help you perform some intense in-game manoeuvres that could save you those all-important games - but, there’s a secret hidden feature that’s only just been discovered.

The Xbox elite controller has a hidden feature

One user of the elite controller has discovered a feature of the peripheral that hasn’t been advertised, and many users don’t even know exists.

As it turns out, the pro-gamer accessory couldn’t be released without just a little bit of RGB, as the logo in the centre of the controller can be altered to show any colour you like. The light, which is usually just simple and white, has been discovered to offer users a slider that will change it to any colour you want it to be, along with being able to change the colour’s brightness and saturation.

How do you change the elite controller’s logo light?

Sadly, the controller will only be able to do this when using it with Steam - but it’s still a pretty great feature regardless.

In order to change its colour, go to Steam’s settings, and from there go to Controller and then General Controller Settings. From there, if you activate Xbox Configuration Support and Xbox Extended Feature Support, then find the controller using Detected Controllers, click on Preferences, and it will open the menu that will allow you to change the logo’s colour.

It’s a shame that this feature has gone unnoticed for so long, but it’s a sweet little addition that allows you to customise your controller just that little bit more.
