The World's First NFT Console Is Complete Nonsense
NFTs have seen a huge drop-off in popularity in recent months, and their status as just another fad manufactured to satiate crypto bros seems to come rocketing towards it.
Interest in shelling out Etherium for JPEGs of monkeys seems to have lost its draw, and while the dorks at the top are still reaping the rewards of the NFT scam, it's sapped money from those on the bottom. Yet, there are still those trying to milk the fad for all that it's worth. Now, a supposed NFT console is on the way. And it's a console for clowns.
What Is The NFT Console?
A brand-new console designed to take advantage of crypto technology has been announced, much to the disdain of most gamers on the internet. The 'Polium One' is a system that claims to be "the world's first multi-chain gaming console."
The idea is that the Polium One will run games on different blockchains and "will be powerful enough to run high-performance games and will be easy to use for a traditional gamer who doesn't understand Web3". Sure, Jan. Supposedly, the console will launch in Q3 of 2024, packing with it 8K HDR at 120fps with Ray Tracing. In a console only as big as a handheld controller. Okay.
What Do Fans Think Of The Polium One
Gaming enthusiasts have pushed back against the Polium One online, claiming in their droves that the console is much too ambitious to be a real project. They're also not convinced that a machine built around crypto could be anything other than doomed to fail. It's not going well for Polium right now.
When it's not Seth Green having his apes stolen, it's Ubisoft quickly backpedalling its Ubisoft Quarts plans and leaving Ghost Recon Breakpoint as an unfortunate experiment. Still, some refuse to admit the bubble has burst and NFTs will be an odd blot on the gaming landscape along with the Nintendo Power Glove.
It's not just Twitter that isn't sold on an NFT console. Haters have even infiltrated the Polium One's Discord to lambast them on their home soil. The announcement of the Polium One hasn't exactly gone down well, and it's probably down to the fact that the crypto scam has revealed itself to be what it truly is over the last few months. Sorry, Polium, but it seems you're a little late to the party with your schemes.
