Croft Manor has never looked so inviting. We're kicking off 2022 with a late Christmas present, as Square Enix's acclaimed Tomb Raider Trilogy is available to download. Better yet... it won't cost you a penny.

Back in 2013, Crystal Dynamics delivered a gritty Tomb Raider reboot that was a million miles away from franchise lows like 2003's Angel of Darkness. The game gave a much younger Ms. Croft a new origin, and put the pieces in place for what would become one of the best trilogies of modern gaming.

Why Is The Tomb Raider Trilogy Free?

Until January 6, you can download 2013's OG, 2015's Rise of the Tomb Raider, and 2018's Shadow of the Tomb Raider for absolutely nothing. It's all part of Epic Games' festive giveaway, that has offered up everything from Control to Shenmue III

Rounding off the celebration, you don't just get one game to usher in the New Year. Getting three for the price of none, Square Enix's award-winning Tomb Raider Trilogy is too good to pass up on. If you're questioning how Epic can afford to give games away, the legal documents in the Apple v Epic case confirmed the gaming giant pays a flat fee for a title instead of paying per copy.

The massive Arkham Trilogy of Rocksteady's Batman games in 2019 apparently cost $1.5 million - which is nothing compared to what Epic makes on a yearly basis. We don't know how much the Tomb Raider Trilogy has cost, but by luring us to the Epic Store, it's a shrewd move.

Is A New Tomb Raider Game On The Way?

2021 marked 25 years since Lara first wielded her dual pistols and backflipped into our lives. Sadly, while the year came with plenty of Tomb Raider announcements, none of them were a new-gen game to carry her into a new generation of games.

Netflix is working on an anime Tomb Raider series that will be set after the events of Shadow, and although there have been mentions of unifying the timelines (good luck), nothing has come to pass in terms of new games. Instead, there's the Tomb Raider Reloaded outing coming out this year for mobile. While we wait for an inevitable franchise reset, why not enjoy the Tomb Raider Trilogy for free?
