HBO has confirmed that The Last Of Us Season 2 is coming in 2025

Season 2 of The Last Of Us was confirmed just two weeks into Season 1’s run, however not much has been confirmed about the next season’s release date since.

A trailer released yesterday by HBO has confirmed that The Last Of Us Season 2 will be coming in 2025, though it has not provided a more precise time frame than this.

Production for Season 2 was delayed by the Writers Guild of America strike, however is set to start again in February 2024 according to showrunner Craig Mazin.

Though nothing is confirmed, Mazin has previously stated that the show will likely run for three to five seasons with four seeming like a good number.

The Last Of Us Season 1 was a huge success

The Last Of Us TV show was received extremely well, both by critics and fans of the show.

With a Rotten Tomatoes score of 96% and an IMDB rating of 8.8, it is clear that the first season of the show went down well, and it is no surprise that a second season was confirmed so quickly.

On top of becoming one of the most streamed shows on HBO, The Last Of Us was also nominated for 24 Emmy awards.

Though the show is critically acclaimed, it is also loved by fans of the game series, with one writing: “HBO version of The Last Of Us is my top show to rewatch. The last episode of Season 1 is just fucking brilliant, so accurate to the game and the acting is top tier.”
