The old-school Modern Warfare 2 (2009) was a masterpiece of a game and will always be discussed as a top-two instalment of the Call of Duty franchise alongside Black Ops 2. For all of it's beauty though, it might have stood atop of the tree alone if it wasn't for one pesky perk, and for some reason, Infinity Ward seem possessed to bring it back and mark Modern Warfare 2 (2022) with the same dread.
Picture this: You've successfully chained enough kills through your Pavelow and AC-130 to consider looking towards that 25-kill streak and your first-ever Tactical Nuke. If your maths lines up, you need two more kills to call in the atomic bomb and win the game while gaining that overlord pride.
Two players line up nicely for you as you blast your ACR rounds into their chest. The first falls, the second scampers, one shot. As you chase the last one around the corner, your first foe whips out a pistol from beyond the grave and somehow unloads four rounds into your torso and sends you both packing to the respawn menu. Pain. Well, prepare for a little bit of that pain to return...
Modern Warfare 2 Leaks Suggest 'Survivor' Perk Is Last Stand
The Last Stand perk normally gives players on a 'death streak' a way of surviving after being killed. Similarly to how an enemy will be downed in Warzone, this perk will see players be able to crawl to safety and beg teammates for a revive. Slightly more annoyingly, they will also have a pistol in their back-pocket, which can be fired at enemies.
Despite being one of the more annoying perks, Last Stand is tailored towards players who need a helping hand, and now it appears Infinity Ward will be stretching their supportive arms out once again. A leak now suggests that 'Survivor' will be one of many perks in Modern Warfare 2, and it will work in the same way Last Stand does.
Given the ties to MW2 2009, the Survivor perk will likely see downed opponents be given pistols, unlike in Warzone.Â

Alongside Survivor, the full list of Modern Warfare 2 perks have been leaked, bringing back some fan-favourites and franchise necessities like Overkill and Ghost. The full list of leaked Modern Warfare 2 perks are:

Many of the perks will be familiar with current Call of Duty players, with most of the list already being in Warzone or Vanguard. Other additions such as Overcharge and Pitcher will be coming, although Overcharge will likely tie to Field Operations and their recharging times and Pitcher might be the name of the perk which allows for an increased throwing distance of grenades.Â
Should Survivor prove to be as popular in Modern Warfare 2 as it was in 2009, it might well be worth practising your throwing knife skills to make sure downed enemies don't kill you from the grave.
