When it comes to long-range Assault Rifles in Warzone, the SVA 545 stands out as the default option for the majority of players.

While weapons like the RAM-7 excelled in the mid-range following the Season 2 patch, very few ARs outside of the SVA could compete from afar.

Well, that changed on February 21, when a "surprise" buff arrived for the MTZ 556 that gave the gun a massive boost of power.

Suddenly, the MTZ is now a long-range meta contender, and Warzone guru TrueGameData has even provided a deadly loadout so you can dominate with it in your matches.

Why is the MTZ 556 a strong long-range AR in Warzone now?

The February 21 patch has given the MTZ 556 a new lease of life, and it's time the weapon made its way onto your loadout list.

For starters, its initial gun kick and recoil were all decreased, making it significantly more stable when lasering opponents from afar.

On top of that, its max damage has been increased from 25 to 27, and its max damage range has been increased to 35.56 from 24.13 - which is huge.

Finally, the devs even buffed the gun's near-mid damage to 24 from 22, meaning it's effectively stronger in every skirmish now.

To save you some time, TrueGameData has created the ultimate MTZ 556 setup that's custom-built to destroy enemies at long range.

The attachments all come together to minimise the recoil, while also giving you plenty of velocity to laser any foes that appear in your optic.

Following the patch, the MTZ 556 has an 888ms TTK at 48m, which puts it right into the mix with the meta rifles and LMGs. Before this weapon skyrockets in popularity, it's probably a good idea to start using it ahead of time.
