There's been another development in the esports career of Michael "Shroud" Grzesiek. The former Mixer favourite recently returned to social media with a cryptic tweet after a month-long hiatus. Now, Shroud has dropped another VALORANT-themed teaser that hints at his return to professional esports and Riot's first-person shooter.

Shroud's first teaser came on July 31 when he shared an ominous look at VALORANT's Omen and the barrel of a gun. This was followed by a second look at VALORANT gameplay reflected in the blade of a knife.

Shroud's love of VALORANT is no secret. He previously said that while he likes playing the game, his obligations to streaming meant he's never be able to reach the "top" of the title. Interestingly, it was here that Shroud said he wouldn't return to pro gaming. When asked if he'd want to tackle VALORANT full-time, the young streamer told his fans, "No! I didn’t say that, it was a joke. You’re not going to see me go pro in a game ever again – we’re past that".

When Mixer shut down in June, there were questions about where Shroud and fellow streaming sensation Tyler "Ninja" Blevins would go. The pair refused to move with Microsoft to Facebook Gaming and were subsequently bought out of their contracts. While Shroud nabbed a reported $10 million, Ninja got a whopping $30 million.

Speaking of Ninja, he also set tongues wagging when he popped up on Twitch and tried out Fortnite's new "Joy Ride" update alongside Dr Lupo. Ninja also didn't reveal whether Twitch would be his new home - so it could've just been a one-time thing.

Now that Shroud is free to sow his wild oats wherever he wants, it means he can dedicate more time to the likes of VALORANT without corporate interference. It's all guesswork for now, and it's important to remember he's not made an official announcement yet.

Either way, when Ninja and Shroud find new platforms, it's sure to new a huge piece of news. For now, we'll just have to wait for Shroud's next tease.
